Have you ever wondered why God had to go to such extremes to get Saul’s attention? Most people bow down just from the sound of Jesus’ voice, but He blinded Saul. Acts 9:3-4 says, “As he journeyed he came near Damascus, and suddenly a light shone around him from heaven. Then he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?”” (New King James) Talk about being blinded by the light! This is how I see it, Saul was so enamored with this world and the things of the world, money and everything else that tends to excite man, that God had to first take his view of the world away. Saul had a purpose that He didn’t even know he had. Before he was born God had chosen him to lead His people. But he didn’t know this. He wasn’t raised up to believe in the now of Christ. In fact, he believed that Jesus was against everything that he was raised to believe in. He thought He was an imposter to the Word. Saul believed that his purpose in life was to persecute those who believed and he was proud to do it. But that wasn’t his purpose. He had a higher purpose in life and he was chosen to have knowledge of his purpose in a harsh way. You see desire begins in the eyes before it sinks into the heart. And Saul had many desires and at the top of his list was power. Wow! He had no idea of what power really was, but he was about to learn. So Jesus blinded him with a bright light and accused him of sinning against Him. That would have been enough for me to turn around, but apparently it was not enough for Saul. Yet God knew just what he needed to get to the place He wanted him to be in. Direction. Jesus gave Saul specific directions. He told him to go into the city. Yes, God had a plan that would usher Saul into his destiny. Do you know that God also has a plan for you? A plan to get you to your purpose and maybe you don’t see it yet, but know that God does have a plan and a purpose for you. I look back on the days when everyone thought that I had it all, money, nice car and beautiful clothes. But there was no happiness in those things. There was only emptiness that made me think that I needed more. I’m sure Saul had been feeling this same emptiness. But no more! This is why God has to sometimes wait to tell us our purpose, we aren’t ready for it. Purpose is life changing and until you are truly ready to change your life without any regrets you won’t know your purpose. It took time for me to want to change and when I finally did I opened my mouth and declare that my life belonged to God to do whatever He wanted to do with it. Then came the preparation. I still did not know my purpose, but I became oh so thirsty for the Lord and everything about Him. I wanted to know Him intimately. So I began to study the Word and God began to speak to me. And my belly would become full and Season arrived. Once you know your purpose it cannot be denied. For everything there is a Season and until your Season comes eat of the Word of God until your belly becomes full. Keep your focus on God and not the world because until your eyes are fully upon God, it won’t be your time. Everyone needs purpose and everything that you are doing now is to move you closer to yours. You are in a place of preparation even now. Be blessed!

Be careful of how you label your blessings. God is so much higher than the mind of man. What do most people think of when they hear the words, “God is about to bless you”? At least eighty five percent of you instantly thought of money, but God is so much more than that. Anyone can bless you with money but when God blesses you it will not be in a way that you can measure. How do you measure all your needs being met? How do you measure God healing you or someone close to you? Keeping your focus on money and trying to attach God to it is not the answer that I am seeking. I want the blessing that contains substance. I want God’s spiritual blessing. I can survive without money but I cannot live without Holy Spirit being active in my life. God has shown me such miraculous things that when I shared them with others, they just could not imagine it. And He did these things just for me! He blessed me! I want you to exercise taking the labels off of your blessings. Allow God to decide what you need. If you really want to know what being blessed feels like, stop choosing what you thank you need and allow God to make the choice for you. Then you will be opening the door for some real supernatural blessings. Dear heavenly Father, I ask that you bless your people with supernatural blessings. Lord your Word says you will pour out a blessing that we will not be able to contain. We are ready God. We are ready for you to pour out. We stand here with open arms awaiting you. And Lord we are expecting blessings that we cannot measure in the natural. Only the supernatural will do for Your people. We thank You God and we wait on You. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen. Be blessed! C. D. I just met a young lady by the name of Daisy who told me that she had just sold her car and was moving out of the room she rents to go backpacking around Mexico. When you told me what she was planning I was at first shocked and was concerned for her safety, but Daisy spoke with no fear. You see Daisy knows the Lord and this knowing gave her the confidence to follow her dream. While I will be lifting her up for the angels to continually protect her, I will also be lifting you up, that you may have this faith that conquers all fears. Be blessed and if you ever think about Daisy, say a little prayer for her. C. D. Have you touched someone today? There are so many ways that we can affect someone by just a touch and we can do this in so many different ways. I am captivated by the word “touch” today. It only took the slightest touch from the hand of Jesus and a life was changed forever. Some of His most famous touches caused the blind to see and the sick to be healed. But there is another touched that was just as life changing. Jesus was able to change many lives with the touch of His words. He spoke life into Lazarus with just His words. John 12:17, “Therefore the people, who were with Him when He called Lazarus out of his tomb and raised him from the dead, bore witness.” To be able to affectively change a life for the better with our words is a gift that was implanted in man from the creation of Adam. If we speak words of love it brings feelings of warmth and joy which can change your entire day. If we speak words of anger and hate, it can bring so many different emotions and these emotions are not easy to get rid of. Emotions can change you for a day or even for a lifetime. Then our Savior came and made “touch” even more powerful. He taught us how to use our touch to change anger into love, to heal on the inside as well as on the outside. He taught us about the “touch” of love. “Knowledge puffs up, but love edifies.” 1 Corinthians 8:1 A kind “touch” to a stranger turns a “touch” into a seed. The way we “touch” others, itself is a witness to our belonging to Christ. I’ve shown complete strangers my “touch” and they knew instantly that I loved the Lord. And the best thing of all is that the “touch” of love doesn’t cost a thing. I’m talking about true love and not imitation. True love profits us and never takes anything away. The “touch” that can change a life for eternity. So I’ll ask you once again. Have you touched someone today? Be Blessed. I've always been a Star Trek fan and there is an episode that always stuck with me. The episode where they meet the Borg. Now the Borg only had one statement that they would repeat with consistency. "Resistance is futile." They were adamant that they could not be defeated and did not think there was any reason to discuss it.
Does not the Lord say many times, "Fear Not"? Yet the minute something goes wrong we become afraid. Even when the Borg took a hit, they kept going and going after the enemy and kept on declaring that , "Resistance is futile." Sometimes we just need to tell the Devil, "Resistance is futile." Sometimes we won't even have to fight if we would just tell him, "Resistance is futile" before the fight even begins. If we embrace God's strength we have no weakness and the outcome is always victorious. So stop running. Turn around right now and tell the Devil, "Resistance is futile." Be blessed! C. D. Did you know that there can be such a thing as having too much covering? 1 Samuel 17:38-39 AMP Then Saul clothed David with his armor; he put a bronze helmet on his head and clothed him with a coat of mail. [39] And David girded his sword over his armor. Then he tried to go, but could not, for he was not used to it. And David said to Saul, I cannot go with these, for I am not used to them. And David took them off. I was meditating on this scripture when I began to envision David being loaded down with all that armor and a couple of things stood out to me. 1. What was comfortable and protective to one man was heavy and a danger to another. 2. David had too much of a covering to fight the battle. And 3. It was faith alone that gave him the power to enter a battlefield without any armor. We are all at different places in our walk and have received different gifts. When we try to do the walk that belongs to another we fail. We were meant to be different from one another because we each carry within us a separate piece of a puzzle called the body of Christ. Each piece is uniquely made to fit into place a certain way. Even when some of the pieces are similar, there is always that one little thing that keeps it from fitting in the wrong slot. That's you, carrying something that God gave you that nobody else can use. Then there's all that metal that was weighing David down. There was an abundance of covering but he could not function in/under it. This happens to us when we share to much with our friends and even our brethren in the church. We sometimes talk too much of our business to the wrong person and it sabotaged the blessing. Not everyone wants what's best for you. Joseph found this out the hard way when he shared his dream with his brothers. But be aware. Not every sabotage will still lead you to your destination. If Joseph had of been discrete he would have had an easier way of reaching the destination that he had seen in his dream. Genesis 37:5 AMP Now Joseph had a dream and he told it to his brothers, and they hated him still more. He was asking the wrong people to cover him and they were his brothers. When David threw off all His armor he was activating his faith by his actions. Here's something else to ponder on. David never heard the voice of God saying he would defeat the giant. He was moving on faith alone. Faith that God would be with him and faith that he would rise victoriously from the battle! This is the kind of faith that is Jesus calling us to grab a hold of. A faith that can really move mountains. Matthew 17:20 AMP He said to them, Because of the littleness of your faith that is, your lack of firmly relying trust. For truly I say to you, if you have faith that is living like a grain of mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, Move from here to yonder place, and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you. So answer this question. Are you ready to move some mountains? Be blessed! C. D. |
