Today I met yet another person in need of spiritual healing. It's hard for me to understand how a leader can cause so much pain in so many and not see what they are doing. Where has the love gone? As leaders our job is to love on the people. Not order them, not make demands on them and not cut them when they disagree with us. I had to pull my car over to the side of the road because I was blinded by my tears. Where are God's nurturers? Where are God's healers? Where are God's true leaders? Remember the adulteress that Jesus saved from being stone? (John 8:4-7) Jesus never spoke harshly to the woman but instead He spoke to her in love. "Woman, where are your accusers?" A great Prophet of God once told me to never follow the light of man for if I do God would leave me. That Word follows me at all times. When it becomes all about YOU, you're chasing after the light of man. Last week I preached about the Holy Spirit and what Holy Spirit wants to do in all of us, but the problem is that many have put Holy Spirit in bondage. Holy Spirit can't do anything in your life because when He said "NO" you pushed right through to "YES". You put chains around the Holy Spirit with your flesh. How long before dying to the flesh becomes not just a word we speak to sound like a mature Christian, but becomes a true action? My spirit grieves every times I hear someone say they have to love on themselves before they can love on anyone else. My spirit grieves every time I hear someone say that they come first in their lives. Lord, God help them to see that it really isn't about them. If you really want to see the works of the Holy Spirit in your lives, let self sit at the back of the bus. Think about your brothers and sisters first ALL the time, and I mean ALL the time. That's the only way that you can die to the flesh. THE ONLY WAY! Become Moldable – Pliable – Usable. When we were given the Holy Spirit it was not something that we had to reach for. Holy Spirit was not placed on the sideline waiting for us to call on Him. He was implanted within us. John 20:22 says, "And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:" God works from the inside out so when Jesus gives us something He is not trying to feed the outer man, He is trying to feed the inner man. When He said, "Receive ye the Holy Spirit" He was implanting the Holy Spirit inside of us. Holy Spirit was breath into our spirits and He has always been there from the moment that we accepted Christ. Our Father said that He was sending us the Holy Spirit to do so many things for us. Let’s go back to the Word for some guidance in this: John 14:26 says, “ But the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will cause you to recall (will remind you of, bring to your remembrance) everything I have told you.” Holy Spirit was sent to be our Counselor (the emotional help that we sometimes need), our Helper (that extra word when we need it), our Intercessor (we can’t intercede for ourselves , but Holy Spirit can), our Advocate (our defense attorney), our Strengthener (the power we need when we feel we can’t go on), and our Standby (our tag team). All these things are not done on the side line. These are inner things. Holy Spirit works from within. We access Holy Spirit from within us. But when we don't listen to His directions we place Holy Spirit on "lock down". We are not in alignment with Holy Spirit. HE CAN'T BE OUR Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby). That takes dying to our flesh. Paul says that He dies daily. (1 Corinthians 15:31) So there should be a daily death to our flesh. When we put everyone before ourselves flesh begins to receded. It goes down and we trample on it daily to keep it down. This pertains to everyone, especially those that leads. Let's release Holy Spirit from jail today and get in alignment with Holy Spirit and then watch how much He can change your lives. Be blessed! I've met many Christians that are as timid as a mouse. If you were to point out someone and ask them to go and tell them about Jesus, they would refuse. So I'm asking you, "Do you have a 'I can't do that!' spirit?"
Acts 4:29, "And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word," Many won't say a word because the enemy has deceived them into believing that to speak to others about our God, our Jesus, would bring a threat to them, but to the contrary, our boldness opens the door to signs and wonders so that others may believe. Acts 14:3 "Long time therefore abode they speaking boldly in the Lord, which gave testimony unto the word of His grace, and granted signs and wonders to be done by their hands." Notice how I said "may believe?" For some even seeing signs and wonders will not help them to believe. This is not what you are to worry about. You just drop a seed and pray. We all have family members that are as yet unsaved. We pray for them, and we pray for them, and we pray for them, when we need to begin to put our faith into action. Tell them about our God. Tell them about our Jesus. Even if they don't want to hear. You must begin to sow a seed into their hearts and you can only do that through boldness. 1 Corinthians 3:6 "I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase." This scripture always remains in my heart because if we are truthful with ourselves, it really isn't asking that much. It only takes one step to plant a seed. Open our mouths. When a family member asks you how did that happen, take a step in the direction of faith and boldness and tell them, "Jesus did it for me." It doesn't matter if they believe you or even if they begin to speak derogatorily to you. Just sow the seed. This will begin to make your prayers effective. Now you have given God something to work with so that He can send the waterers. To not move now, is to delay their salvation. Yes, God can send someone else to sow the seed that they need, but do you really want your family to be free through Christ. Tell yourself, "No more delays." Go forth in boldness and plant those seeds of salvation. It doesn't take much. Just four little words and one big word, "JESUS did it for me!" Today I am praying that you take on the spirit of boldness. That you open your mouth and testify freely. That you sow a seed into the spirit of an unbeliever. That you plant a seed that will grow into a life of commitment and finally, that God will grant you utterance. Ephesians 6:19 "And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel," Speak it now into their spirit. Sow, sow, and sow and watch God work a miracle on your behalf! Be blessed! Evangelist Cheryl Davies (www.fearnotministries.com) |
