There is a lesson to be learned in Genesis 45:4-8,
“And Joseph said unto his brethren, Come near to me, I pray you. And they came near. And he said, I am Joseph your brother, whom ye sold into Egypt. 5 Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that ye sold me hither: for God did send me before you to preserve life. 6 For these two years hath the famine been in the land: and yet there are five years, in the which there shall neither be earing nor harvest. 7 And God sent me before you to preserve you a posterity in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance. 8 So now it was not you that sent me hither, but God: and he hath made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt.” So Joseph’s brothers sold him as a slave when he was younger out of jealousy. But even as they were doing evil towards their brother, they did not know that God still had a plan. And that they were part of that plan. Did David have animosity towards his brothers for all that he endured? Not at all. For he understood the plan. He went from slave to ruler. And because of his position he was able to save his family. He understood that it was God who sent him into captivity and not his brothers. This is why it is so important to look at the spirit of people and not their actions. What we might perceive as the influence of the enemy might in fact be the works of God. This also tells us not to look at the situation, but to look towards the outcome of the situation. So don’t be stuck in what’s happening to you today. This is but a moment in your life, and God has a plan for this moment to pass and greater things to come. Be blessed!
