ou know it's good to notice when people are trying to deceive you and it's good to bring it to their attention that you do know the truth. The problem comes when we try to bring them down in front of others because we feel that we have been offended or hurt. This is nothing new. Throughout the Bible we can see people blasting others and always and I mean always, God saw the blaster as the offender. Not the one that was deceiving, but the one that saw the truth and had to tell everybody what the person had done wrong. Time and time again God warns us to keep our mouth off of others. Not to say what they did or said wasn't wrong. Yes it was wrong but followers of Jesus are life givers! We bring life where there was once darkness and death! Now we all know the scripture, "Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof." Proverbs 18:21, but this just touches on how we can not only kill our brethren but kill ourselves by our words. Jude says in verses 9-10 this: "But even the archangel Michael, when he was disputing with the devil about the body of Moses, did not himself dare to condemn him for slander but said, “The Lord rebuke you!” 10 Yet these people slander whatever they do not understand, and the very things they do understand by instinct—as irrational animals do—will destroy them." This has been a time of pointing the finger but are we not all human and to be human is to err. You may think you're destroying the offender when in fact you may just be destroying yourself. Another example is in 1 Samuel when David said, "As saith the proverb of the ancients, Wickedness proceedeth from the wicked: but mine hand shall not be upon thee." David was speaking of Saul whom he knew meant him harm. I'm telling you sooner or later you are going to have to thicken your skin. The time for being offended by others needs to be a thing of the past. You can't minister to anyone if you are too busy listing their faults and that list will get you killed. While being seekers of the truth we still need to learn what to do with this truth. How can we use it for the glory of God? The only way we can do this is by building people up instead of tearing them down. A loving gesture will do so much more than confrontation. Just as people will judge you by your bad actions, they will not just judge you but will learn from you by your loving actions. You see everything I just spoke about was taught in just 1 lesson from Jesus in His Sermon on the Mount and sums everything up nicely. This sermon wasn’t for the unsaved. It was meant for you to make sure you never lose your light. Mathew 5 says, 3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. 5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. 6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. 7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. 8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. 9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. 10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Seems to me God has always championed the underdog and I don’t mind looking like one to others because according to my Father, I’m blessed and I’ll stay that way as long as I watch my mouth. So let's be meek in spirit. Hunger for righteousness. Be merciful. Be peacemakers. Be pure of heart and as always, Be blessed!
