Do you stand out in your surroundings or do you blend in?
2 Chronicles 1:1 says, “Solomon the son of David established himself in his kingdom, and the Lord his God was with him and made him exceedingly great.” As Solomon established himself over his kingdom so should we be established over every area of our lives. As Christians, blending is not an option. Ephesians 5:7-11 tells us, “Therefore do not become partners with them; 8 for at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light 9 (for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true), 10 and try to discern what is pleasing to the Lord. 11 Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them." God is calling for you to be the light so that others may live. Yes, rejecting the things of this world will make you standout and apart from everyone else. The world will come against you, but know this to be true: God is always with you. The Bible says in Deuteronomy 20:1, “When thou goest out to battle against thine enemies, and seest horses, and chariots, and a people more than thou, be not afraid of them: for the Lord thy God is with thee, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.” You must see this world as being in battle against God and those that belong to God. It’s against you, but is not our God more powerful than anything that can be conceived on this earth. Have faith in this truth. God is always right and this world (get this in your spirit now) is always wrong. About everything. So if you are in agreement with God, then YOU are right and THEY (this world) are wrong. Believe it. Walk in it. We must be the light. As the light we draw others toward Jesus and the Kingdom of God. Be the Light. Philippians 1:27-28 says, “Only let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your affairs, that you stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel, 28 and not in any way terrified by your adversaries, which is to them a proof of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that from God.” Defeat for them and victory for you!!! Stand in faith for if God is for you, who can stand against you. They may try, but victory will always belong to you. Be blessed! The 2nd time we meet the Shunammite Woman is in 2 Kings 8:1-6. So Elisha is still staying at the Shunammite Woman’s home whenever he goes through Shunem and it is on one of these visits that Elisha warns her of a famine to come upon the land ordering the family to leave their home for the 7 years of famine.
The Shunammite Woman immediately gathered her things with her family and left their home and lands. She asked no questions. She didn’t delay. She immediately took action to do what the holy man of God had commanded her. Not only that but she went to the land of the Philistines. Seven years in an unholy land and we hear nothing of her complaining.
So they return home after seven years and as expected, someone else now owns their lands so her family is homeless. But only for a moment. You see God is a situation changer.
After returning home and seeing their property belonging to someone else, the Shunammite Woman decides to go request their property back from the King and it was only because she was obedient to the man of God’s directions that she arrived at the palace just as Gehazi, Elisha’s servant was relating her story to the King. Now that’s favor! She not only received her property back, but the current owner had to restore any profits from the lands made during their seven year absence as well. If God be for you, who can stand against you. The Shunammite Woman is a perfect example of knowing who God is, knowing who is sent by God, having a servant’s heart despite your wealthy status, and having an obedient spirit will allow God to move time for you and set you smack dab in the middle of the blessing. Be blessed! Evangelist Cheryl Davies (www.fearnotministries.com) #SharingIsCaring #ShunammiteWoman #TheTimeChanger #Restoration#GloryToGod We first encounter the Shunammite Woman in 2 King 4:8-37 as Elisha was passing by. From the first the Shunammite Woman was considered a great woman. This woman carried a discerning spirit for she perceived that Elisha was a holy man of God and from the beginning she chose to serve him. Despite her status she chose to be a servant to the man of God.
Without being asked to, the Shunammite Woman decided to add onto her house a room, reserved only for Elisha, to rest in whenever he passed her way. Her desire to be a servant to the man of God required a response.
Notice that the Shunammite Woman never had to ask Elisha to bless her household. Her giving came from her heart without a need to receive anything in return. She positioned herself to be a receiver. Not only that, but she placed herself in a position of remembrance. Every time Elisha came to Shunem he would think of this woman and her kindness towards him.
Elijah did not know what the woman’s needs were. A prophet is not all seeing as God is, and sometimes must ask questions and Elisha was ready to prophesy once he received his answer.
So the Shunammite Woman gave birth to a son which grew to be a young man. The story tells how one day he had a pain in his head and died. The Shunammite Woman went searching for Elisha and would not leave him until he came himself to her son. Even though she had a little doubt she still carried hope that Elisha would heal her son and he did.
So don't worry about the doubt. As long as you have hope, doubt will quickly be overcame. Be blessed! Evangelist Cheryl Davies (www.fearnotministries.com) #SharingIsCaring #ShunammiteWoman #GiveFreely #CreateProphesy#GloryToGod Last weekend the Lord had me teach on David from a perspective that I had never heard before. Now all week I keep seeing our Leaders teaching on David. If you haven't done it yet, pull out your Bible and read the story of David and Goliath once again.
God is trying to elevate your knowledge. Flow with Him! 1 Samuel 17:4546, "Then said David to the Philistine, " Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied. 46 This day will the Lord deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcasses of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel." Being spiritually fit has to do with what's on the inside of you. You have to really know what God has placed in you. Luke 10:19 says, "Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you." Holy Ghost power resides within us. Power to defeat any giant that comes our way Whether it be trial or circumstance. Begin to speak to that giant today as David spoke to Goliath, "I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied. This day will the Lord deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcasses of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel."
