Our friends and family are just as important as the stranger on the street and there's a real need to evangelize to them also. either you convert them or they will convert you. We've all heard the saying, "Birds of a feather flock together." This happens to be true, but the hardest thing to do is to convert a friend to Christ. Thankfully the Bible even gives us instructions on this. Romans 14:15 says,"But if thy brother be grieved with thy meat, now walkest thou not charitably. Destroy not him with thy meat, for whom Christ died."Our ACTIONS matter! What we do as Christians has an effect, whether good or bad, on those around us. I have a friend that I saw once a week and I when she saw me one day after I had spent a week in the presence of the Lord and was renewed and refreshed she saw a big difference. Where she thought I had met a man and was in love, I shared with her that yes, I had met someone and was in love. When she told we she wanted what I had it opened the door for me to witness to her and I told her the man I was in love with was Jesus. This led her on her own journey to seek a relationship with Jesus. Before that day she would have never heard the message I carried of the love of Jesus for all so it's very important that we carry ourselves in the beautiful, loving and humble image of Jesus. A part of Joshua 24:15 says, "as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." For family your ministry belongs at home first and foremost. Evangelism is a ministry. There is no ministry mode. Ministry is an always thing. It doesn't wait for you to leave your house to activate. It's a part of you and when you are at home you teach your family who God is and you teach them relationship with Jesus. If you don't do this the world will teach them their religion and you must remember that the world only serves darkness. We are the carriers of the light of Christ. This does not make us holier than thou but it does make of light bringers. Jesus, who is the light of the world walked this earth sharing the light with us and He called us to do the same. We are all called to be witnesses whether at home or in the streets. We answer the call of evangelism in our hearts first and the we allow ourselves to be used wherever we are. So let that be your prayer today. Lord use me, in my home and wherever I go. Use me to lead others to you. Be blessed! I decided to do a series on Evangelizing since so many people have seen the pictures and videos and are asking me how do my brothers and sisters and I have the courage and boldness to go out and tell people about who Jesus is and how they can have a relationship with Him.
What you need to realize is that it’s totally Spirit. Being Spirit-Led means you allow God to use your spirit for His will and you carry that same Spirit to others. 2 Timothy 2:23-26, “But refuse (shut your mind against, have nothing to do with) trifling (ill-informed, unedifying, stupid) controversies over ignorant questionings, for you know that they foster strife and breed quarrels. 24 And the servant of the Lord must not be quarrelsome (fighting and contending). Instead, he must be kindly to everyone and mild-tempered [preserving the bond of peace]; he must be a skilled and suitable teacher, patient and forbearing and willing to suffer wrong. 25 He must correct his opponents with courtesy and gentleness, in the hope that God may grant that they will repent and come to know the Truth [that they will perceive and recognize and become accurately acquainted with and acknowledge it], 26 And that they may come to their senses [and] escape out of the snare of the devil, having been held captive by him, [henceforth] to do His [God’s] will.” There’s opportunity here but only if you are a true servant of the Lord Most High. Everything you’ve done in relating to others should have just changed for you. No more arguments. No more I’m right and you better know I’m always right. No more walking away thinking it’s useless. Just loving kindness and mild temperament praying for God to show them the truth. Correction is okay but you have to do it with gentleness. There’s an old saying, “You can catch more bees with honey. “ The spirit in which you deliver the truth is what draws so if you can’t hear the love of God in it, neither can they. The truth is you can’t get it for them but they have to get it for themselves and this will only happen through the love of Christ Jesus. We are commission to bring forth new disciples for the Lord but too many are not getting it because they believe they don’t know how or are not ready or knowledgeable enough if the Word. How can this be when many of the disciples heard the Word and immediately when out and shared it with others? Listen. Have faith in God. He will not lead you where you are not equipped to go. Holy Spirit always knows just what to say if you would just listen. Be blessed!
